PPI
Pixels per inch. A measure of the scanning resolution and the resolution of a bitmap.
Prepress
The process of preparing a publication for commercial printing.
Printers' Marks
Information placed on the film, such as crop marks, to help service bureau's and printing
shops evaluate and print a publication.
Printing Shop
An establishment that produces printing plates and prints documents using printing
presses. Some printing shops also offer other prepress services such as scanning and film
output.
PRN File
A PostScript file that contains instructions that a PostScript output device can use to
produce an image.
Process Colour
A method of reproducing full-colour images on a printing press using only four inks. The
four inks are cyan, yellow, magenta, and black.
